 Our ministry, October 2003:

Yevgeniya Nikitina

On Tuesday after Bible lesson in the church "Golgotha" about 5 p.m. we went to give out invitations to the film. There were three of us. We divided into groups and went to different places. Each of us had 20 invitations. We were to give out invitations during one hour and then go to the youth meeting in the church "Bethlehem". It was getting dark. I stood at the stairs near the bus stop. Many people went up that stairs. It was cold but all of us were in good mood. We offered people invitations and majority took them. Not long before we left three men passed Olga Smolyakova. She offered them the invitations and they began talking to her. Galya and I came up to them. One of them called himself a believer. Since I didn't have a hat on he said I should take better care of my health. He added it was sin to ruin health. We talked with him about God. He told us about his family. We explained to them what our faith and love to God meant to us. We gave them invitations. Unfortunately no one of those three men came to the film on Friday. I hope that our words were not in vain. May God work in their hearts.

Tatyana Romanovich

On Wednesday we gave out invitations to the video film. We began doing it near the church "Golgotha", and then decided to go to the store. Two women walked before us and we decided to talk with them about Jesus Christ. We came and offered them the invitations. One woman said that she was not interested in it and that she was in a hurry. The second woman showed interest and asked if her mother could also come. I said that the film would be shown in the church "Golgotha" and everybody could come. She said that she liked that church; she liked the atmosphere and the attitude of people to each other. She liked that all church members took care of each other and were ready to help at any moment. I asked her if she believed in Jesus Christ, if she believed that He was our Savior and best friend. She gave positive answers to all my questions. She was amazed that such young people as us devoted their lives to God and the ministry to Him. She said she couldn't make that step because she wanted to live for her own pleasure and that when she became old she would probably come to God. I replied that we didn't know how long we would live and only God knew it. He gave each person a certain amount of time to live. I began sharing "4 spiritual laws" with her. The woman liked our conversation. She said that she would surely come to the church but wouldn't go constantly since she was an orthodox. The priest forbade them to go to another church otherwise God will not bless them. I said that Bible didn't speak about it and it was our responsibility to choose where to go and to whom serve. She agreed but at the same time stick to her opinion. At that moment another woman interrupted us saying they had to go faster, though I saw they were not really hurrying. We thanked them for listening to us and went farther. They slowly continued their walk. They just took an excuse. It was not so important; the most important thing was for our words to touch their hearts. God has His will on everything.

Yevgeniy Lasuk

Once on my way home from college I met a woman. She looked anxious. I came to her and asked how she felt. She looked at me and said she was OK. I noticed that she looked anxious. And then she told me her story. "I am alone and very lonely. My husband died five days ago. He was a good man. I loved him so much. Though he died I will keep this love till my death." I asked her if she had children. She began crying even more and said: "We had only one child and he died. I was afraid to give birth but when the baby was born everything seemed fine. In a while the baby quit eating. We tried everything but nothing helped. The baby didn't eat for two weeks and then died. My husband and I decided we wouldn't have more children." I asked her, why. She said they were afraid the same could happen to their second child. I was weeping. She said: "You are crying. Are you in the similar situation?" I answered: "No, but my wife is pregnant and she is also afraid to labour."

She asked to send greetings to my wife and assure her that everything would all right. I asked her name. Her name was Maria and she was 28 years old. I told her of Jesus Christ and His love to her. I also invited her to the church. She thanked me and I promised to pray for her.

On the way to the House of Prayer I suddenly got a strong desire to stop. I had a feeling that somebody was staring at me. I looked to the right and saw a man. He was looking at me very seriously and carefully. He was sitting in a wheel-chair. I could not move, his eyes were special.

"Hi!" - I greeted him and sat down beside him. We began talking. His name was Vanya, he was 19. He was complaining. He said, that he would prefer to work or to study rather than to sit in a wheel-chair where he has been since his childhood. He was really pitiful. His face and arms were disfigured. His speech was difficult to understand. But he asked me to tell him about God. After I finished he asked me: "What must I do? It is hard to believe that God needs me, a cripple." I said: "God accepts everybody. For you He has a special plan." The Holy Spirit was working in his heart and finally we prayed. Fortunately I had a Bible with me and gave it to Vanya.

Pray for this guy. May he discover a new life, meaningful and abundant, through reading the Bible.

Kruchkov Sergey

Many people do not pay any attention to details, but I try to see even the smallest things which God does in my life. Through different circumstances He shows me that I have to go the way on which He put me.

On a Tuesday we went out to invite people to watch Christian movies in "Golgotha" church. It was raining and getting colder. Zhenya was with me and helped me tell about the "Four Spiritual Laws".

One man was interested and asked me where and when the films were to be shown. When Zhenya asked him if he had ever heard of God the man broke down weeping. He told that his son died recently. He was 30. He was a true believer and he is in Heaven now. We told him about God using the "Four Spiritual Laws". We told him that he might meet his son in Heaven if he also receives Christ as his Savior. We told that religion does not save. We receive salvation by our faith thanks to Jesus.

When we told about two different types of life he replied that he wanted to live where Jesus rules. He promised to come to the church and to give up smoking.

When Zhenya offered him to pray he did not hesitate and agreed. We were praying among pedestrians, under rain, in cold weather. We asked the man to come to the church and see us if he has questions. His name is Ivan. We promised him to pray for him. We are grateful that God worked through us.

Svyatoslav Guzovsky

We went to witness of Jesus Christ. I decided to us a questionnaire. It would help me to begin conversation with people. I would greet them, ask a few questions and then observe their reaction, watching either they are in a hurry or not. If a person is not in a rush he or she will agree to talk.

First I met a young woman with a child. I asked her questions and offered to listen to "4 spiritual laws". She refused since she hurried home to feed her child.

Then I met two young men. They answered questions but didn't want to listen to "4 spiritual laws" saying hat it was chilly outside.

I continued my walk. A young man of 25 went to me. I greeted him and offered him to answer a few questions. I could see that he was in hurry but something in us got him interested. He agreed. I asked him 10 questions. I saw that he was not satisfied with his life. He searched the meaning of life. His understanding of God was very vague. I asked him one more question: "Would you like to know about true values of life, which are written in the Bible? Would you like to reconcile with God and have personal relationship with Him?" He said yes. I began sharing "4 spiritual laws" with him. He listened to me attentively. When I explained 2 circles symbolized two types of life, he pointed that his life coincided with the first circle, but he wanted to live according to the second one. I explained to him what he needed to do. I read the prayer and him if it expresses the desire of his heart. He said, "Yes". I offered him to pray with his own words. He prayed asking God to forgive him. Then we finished reading "4 spiritual laws" about what he as a young Christian should do. I congratulated him with his new birth, with reconciling with God. Then I invited him to the church and gave him a special invitation to the serviced devoted to the reformation. He promised to come to the church.
