Smolevichy, Minsk region:
On the way to Smolevichy we saw beautiful landscapes and thought how great our God is. We all were filled with excitement and joy. We were going to an unknown town to unknown people. God sent us to tell them about His Good News. We asked Him to give us His wisdom and to strengthen us.
At first glance we did not like Smolevichy. It was gray and plain. We even became sad. But we prayed and trusted God. We believed that people would give their souls to Jesus and the town would become lighter.
The local missionaries received us with joy and hospitality. We were drinking tea and speaking. They told us about the situation in the town and about their work there. We were tired but we were looking forward to the next day.
In the morning we prayed for GodÒs blessings and for His guidance and protection. We all had many ideas and plans. With great enthusiasm we began preparations for Easter service and celebration. The program was interesting and should glorify Jesus, His work on the cross and His resurrection. In the afternoon we were knitting with the children from the Sunday school. Before inviting people to the service we prayed God to open their hearts and minds.
In the morning we were praising our Lord. We thanked Him for His victory over death. We praised Him that He is the living God and asked Him to be the only living God for local people too. There were about 30 people at the service! We all felt His presence among us. We hope and believe that His seeds will bring forth fruits in hearts of those people.
On Monday we had a meeting and fellowship with local non-Christian youth. We prepared the meeting thoroughly. We received them with love. We played, laughed, spoke about JesusÒ resurrection and its importance.
Next day we were working in the garden of our missionaries. We were so tired but so happy that we could do for them something good.
Leaving the town we were sad but this time because we were leaving friends and many people we loved. We pray that God blesses them with faith and salvation.
