Summer project in Rudensk, Minsk region:
The summer project that will last for the whole month in the town of Rudensk has come. The population of the town is 4 thousand. It is situated to the south of Minsk. There is a bread factory, collective farm and an orphanage here.
We came to Rudensk in the morning by train. From the station we went to the house of prayer where we were going to live for the whole month. The house is not finished yet. Here we will sleep and help with the construction work. People were waiting for us. Before lunch we unpacked and settled. After lunch we helped at the construction - carried sand to the second floor, fetched bricks. That day I met the youth of the church. They also do their part in the construction work.
Alesya will be our chef. She will feed all of us. Next day we got up at 7 o'clock and prayed. Alesya came at half past seven and cooked breakfast for us. Everything she cooked was very delicious. At half past nine Andrey a pastor of the church came and we had fellowship and prayer in the beginning of the working day.
We began to carry up a fronton on the second floor of the church. We worked till the evening. At half past six we went to the prayer meeting to one sister.
We worshiped God singing and prayed for our needs. It was the second day of our project.
The whole first week we did construction work. We started at ten and worked till six in the evening. The pastor of the church Andrey gave task to every one of us. Two other men that were very close to God were working with us. Before the work we read Bible with them.
After work we had spare time. We often went to the park with church youth and played volleyball. Due to this we got acquainted with young people in Rudensk. Playing volleyball together made us closer and after the game we had opportunity to witness of Jesus Christ.
Once we decided to go to the park. We took a guitar to praise God through our singing. We also hoped to share Good news with people. The weather was against us, it was cloudy, and the cold wind blew. There were few people in the park. Should we leave or stay? We decided to stay. We sat in a circle and started singing. In a while we noticed a girl sitting on a bench not far from us and listening to our songs. We invited her to our circle. We sang songs and asked her questions. We had good fellowship. We also invited her to the youth meeting in the church. She came. She became our friend. The name of the girl is Anna. She began to come to us every day.
Slava and I helped one sister to hay in her field.
We spent much time with young people in the church.
I went to the orphanage. Teenagers and children were glad to see me. We played different games with them.
During our project in Rudensk we helped to carry out tow main frontons and two side frontons. It will take much effort and help to finish the church building in Rudensk. May God give pastor strength in this work.
There are many young people in this town that need to know about Jesus Christ, but the church youth has desire to do this mission. I believe that church of Christ here will do everything to save souls.
