The missionary has only begun to plant a church here, so he was very glad to have us as helpers. On Sunday service there are only 3-4 persons. On the first evening the missionary brought us onto the highest hill in the town and we prayed together asking God to bless our ministry. Then we began to invite people to come to our church. On Sunday there were 14 persons! God answered our prayer and our efforts were not in vain. So we were greatly encouraged. On 11. December we had a special service for young people.
There were 20 people, they showed great interest in everything what was going on. The topic of our conversation was about our bad habits - smoking, alcoholism, bad language. We tried to explain the sinfulness of a man's nature and that only God can help us and make us strong. The missionary's sister Olga was present at the meeting. We noticed that she was very excited and when we were going home she said she wanted to repent, so we stopped and bowed our heads and prayed together.
The local officials didn't permit us to show the film "Jesus". We were disappointed but decided to have something different instead.
So we decided to organize a presentation of the book "Four Spiritual Laws". We thought of a program how to tell people about Jesus, how to attract their attention and to reach their hearts. There were 25 people, at the end we prayed and many of them repeated the repentance prayer.
We hope and pray that these people will come to God.
We managed to organize a Christmas party at the local orphanage, we didn't have any presents for them but we gave them our love and attention. We told them that Jesus loves them all. They listened very attentively about Heavenly Father who is always with them and never leaves them. The teachers told it was very learning and comforting. They invited our missionary to visit the orphanage so our brother will have a good opportunity to help the children to find their way to God.
The time spent in Vetrino was a special and unique opportunity to serve God.
