Novogrudok:
We would like to share some stories about our ministry in Novogrudok.
There is no church in Novogrudok. A college graduate Yuri Denishik and his wife Natasha are doing missionary work there. They will have a difficult task - to plant a church, more so the Catholic Church dominates in this area and people taught by its priests have negative attitude to the "apostates of the patristic faith".
Therefore the project was difficult and to the first sight not very effective, but the Word of the Lord is not preached in vain.
While sharing the Gospel in the town we met a group of soldiers. There was one man among them who happened to be a convinced atheist. It is very difficult to talk with this kind of people. They blankly reject what they heard, their heart is so hardened that they don't accept any reason or argument. That man purposely read the Bible to know how he could argue with Christians. It is sad that there are people that read the Scripture just to find contradictions in it or approve their own errors.
Once we had to go to the bank. We came to the bank we knew but it was closed. First we decided to wait for the time it would be opened but then saw a woman passed by and asked her where the nearest bank was. She agreed to show us the way. We started talking and she asked us why we came to their town from Minsk. It was a good opportunity to share the good news with her, which was exactly the purpose of our coming to that town. She didn't refuse to take a New Testament and we also gave her Yuri's address. We hope that someday she will remember about our meeting...
During the project we also showed a series of movies against abortion. The problem of abortion is very deep in Belarus. We gave people New Testaments and other Christian literature.
It was a difficult project but God blessed it. We were glad to help Yuri Denishik in his ministry. He has a lot of work to do and he needs your and our prayers and support.
