The church "Golgotha" exists more that 100 years. Now there are about 1000 members at the church. They have many young people, a big Sunday school. That is why we were very busy.
The pastor of the church gladly received us and gave us the following tasks:
- Visiting the sick and elderly.
- Teaching the Bible lessons on week days.
- Showing Christian films during the week.
The greatest part of our ministry we were busy visiting sick and old people. There were many of them, because the church is big.
We worked during the time before Christmas. We gave Christmas gifts to the people, which we visited, encouraged and strengthened them, It was a blessing for us to see old and sick but joyful and happy men and women. Looking at the sick we praised the Lord for our health. We praised Him that He allows us to serve Him. It was so interesting and exciting to listen to them, when they told about their lives, difficulties, persecutions.
In one family we met a young girl, a student. She told that she was in the church, but people there were not friendly, they rebuked her because she wore pants. They told a woman might not wear pants. The girl came to a conclusion that only in a cult there could be such restrictions. We tried to explain her that there are different people in churches, there happen sometimes misunderstandings between generations and so on. She understood and agreed that she had to continue to attend church. We hope that she will forget unfriendly reception and forgive the people.
We liked to work with teenagers very much. They have many questions, want to know even what is not possible to know. They discover life and are eager to know God.
