The graduates of the Bible college work in this village for more than 7 years. The village of Khutor is rather big, it has 1000 inhabitants. In all these years there isn't a person in the village who hasn't heard about Jesus, all villagers have met and spoken to the representatives of the Baptist church. So we also decided to get acquainted to the villagers and started to visit them. Some people were very hospitable, some didn't let in and were rather aggressive.
We visited a schoolteacher. Schoolteachers are very respected in our villages. He said that he was an atheist but he always recommended his pupils to attend church. He was worried that many people and their children used bad language and drank alcohol. The teacher accused Russian Orthodox priests of being hypocrites. He said that he was of a good opinion about the representatives of the Protestant church who he met. He said he was very proud of his former pupil Natasha Sachanchuk, the graduate of our Bible college. It was very sad that this man didn't worry about his future.
Very many people listened to us attentively, but they didn't want to change anything in their life. "Let everything be as it is", most villagers told us. Some even told us they would like to visit church, to learn more about God, but they were afraid their neighbours and relatives would laugh at them.
Two weeks spent in the village helped us to understand the psychology of the village people better. We got some very valuable experience. We took part in the work of the church and its Sunday school, visited the sick, prepared a party for children and young people.
